"Jesus, We Trust in
You"
The man said, "This
is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called
'woman, for she was taken out of man."
For this reason a man
will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will
become one flesh.
Genesis
2:23 & 24

STANDING THE TEST OF TIME IN
BROTHERHOOD…
The
St. John Knights of Columbus Council #7300 is based in Winslow, Maine.
The Council has served the Winslow and
Central Maine area since 1979 and for over the 30 year period has
generously supported the local Roman Catholic Parish, St. John Catholic
School in Winslow and local communities.
Amazingly,
almost all living founding Knights still maintain current memberships and
remain active within the Council. The council maintains approximately 80
practical Catholic men known as Brothers.
Council meetings are open to all
Brothers of the Knights of Columbus Order and are held at the St. John's
Church basement (KofC Hall) on Monument Street in Winslow on the second
Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM from September to June of each year.
The Council has been active in ongoing
projects such as the KofC Tootsie Roll Drive, community meals, financially
supporting local Seminarians, Operation Wheelchair, Parish Parking Lot
Spring Cleanup, Eucharistic and Catechetical Ministries,
charitable contributions to the Maine General Cancer Center, the Pine
Tree Camp and to needy
members of the community.
Additionally, the Council has supported
special projects such as the financially supporting a replacement sink in
the Sacristy at St. John Church, helped to support a replacement
roof of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Waterville, was the founding
contributor to the St. John School Endowment Fund, established the St.
John's Grotto, and providing support to the St. John Regional
Catholic School.
Today, St. John Council continues to
further their efforts established by its founding Knights. They
graciously welcome new Catholic Brothers into the Order
and into Council #7300.
In recent years as local Catholic
Parishes merged, the area Knights of Columbus Councils including the St.
John Council #7300 have made efforts to work together on various projects
to enhance the Order’s first principle of Charity. This helps to promote
unity and fraternity among its member Knights through their participation
through charitable projects, corporate mass and communion services which
help our Brothers develop and unite together in Knighthood.

Who are the knights?
Established
in 1882, by Father
McGivney, the Knights are dedicated to the principles of
Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
The
Knights are an integral part of the world’s largest and most dynamic
Catholic fraternal organization comprised of over 1.75 million Brothers
and their families in 14,000 councils.
The
Knights, under the leadership of Supreme Knight Carl Anderson, are
referred to "the Strong Right Arm of the Church" and comprised
of practical Catholic men, 18 years of age and older, who are committed
to making their community a better place, while supporting their Church.

Why join the knights?
Being
a Knight is more than camaraderie; it is being involved with your
community; it is supporting your local Catholic Church, while enhancing
your own faith; belonging to an established catholic Christ based
brotherhood, it is about protecting and enhancing your family life.
You
will enjoy a sense of "belonging" in an organization that
shares your religious beliefs, brings together like-minded men joined in
a common cause, and offers the opportunity to develop and cement
friendships for years to come.
As
a major benefit, your concerns for your family and for your retirement
years can be addressed by the Order's low-cost, voluntary top rated life
insurance program, conducted by Brother Knights only for Brother Knights
and family members assuring your security and peace of mind.
Also,
some benefits include subscription to Columbia Magazine, Rosary Program,
Annuity Program, Long Term Care, Orphan Benefit, Family Fraternal
Benefit, Scholarship Opportunities, Catholic Information Service and
more.
